Bag, bag, bag it up

That's right, after getting hit by a hurricane, Comix Impressions rallied and delivered the comics ahead of schedule. Props to those guys, Mother Nature couldn't slow them down. 

The comics are all sitting in my basement awaiting to be bagged, boarded, and boxed. While setting up my print operation, I printed all the labels at once and as a result you all got a USPS alert via email. That tracking code is going to read as "Waiting to Be Picked Up" for a while as I scramble to box all these comics. 

I will send out an Update when all the boxes have been picked up but I'm hoping that that will happen before Thanksgiving, fingers crossed.

Post Hurricane Update

Hi folks,

Thanks for engaging with me on the last Update regarding the Printing Delay due to Hurricane Ian. It seems like there was a consensus to stick with Comix Impressions as to not take business from them. I didn't want to cut them and it seems like everyone agreed! Thank you for your patience as they recover from the brutal storm that hit them directly. 

I heard word from Rich and after 2 weeks of post-hurricane clean up, they are back and operational. Seems as some printers and roofs were damaged but they nevertheless are back in business. 

As of now, the covers and variants have been printed. All that remains are the guts of the book. This is probably the most important part because the pages need to print in order. 

With that knowledge in hand, I think my new delivery date of December/January is a reasonable one. 

Remember, Digital Rewards and copies have been sent out already. If you haven't gotten ahold of them, feel free to reach out!

Red Veril is currently working on Issue 3 art and I am looking toward scripting issue 4. We have some cool stuff for issue 3 including...*drumroll* a double page spread! This is the first we've attempted this so I'm excited to see how it turns out when we print!

Hurricane Ian Hits Print Operation

(Update): They sent out a direct email to everyone (it was in my spam).  They are ok and running a very limited operation.

Yup...you read that correctly. 

Backing up a little bit. I estimated a November delivery on the KS page and had placed the order with the printers. They said 4-6 weeks delivery which put me right on schedule for November. 

Some folks inquired as to the progress of the Kickstarter Deliverables so I decided to reach out to the printer via email. No response. A few days later I followed up. Nothing. After another backer inquired I decided to give them a phone call. <<busy signal>> . Strange? So I ate breakfast and after I gave them one more ring. <<busy signal>>.

It was then to my horror that I looked at the caller ID location -- Cape Coral, FL.

That was directly in the path of Hurricane Ian.  With heavy flooding, in that area, I can only imagine what happened to that print house. 

I still haven't been able to get in touch with the folks, I have no idea if they are ok. I hope they are as they are great people and took great care to look after this small print run. 

As for next steps...I need to process and look at my options. I vetted another printer (Buffalo) but I don't want to quickly dismiss my current printer. If I do pivot, I will need to find a way to reclaim my security deposit and then will need to do file prep all over again with this new printer. 

If you feel strongly one way or another, comment below. You're just as much as apart of this as I am. 

However things shake out, I regrettably project that the Physical Copies likely won't ship out until December or January.

The long awaited day has arrived! Thanks to everyone who contributed! You can now collect your Digital Rewards, which includes Torch: RTS Digitals, Wallpapers, Audio Commentary and a bonus book "The Ignis Quadrant." I'm so excited to share all of this with you!

To receive your reward, look for an email from BackerKit to collect your files. If you don't see your email check your Sp@m folder. 

If you still don't see it, your card for physical shipping may have been declined (5 people), please resolve asap.

DEADLINE - Surveys Will Lock Sunday

Hi Everyone!

So 90% of the Surveys have been filled out.  Thank you to those who were prompt in filling theirs out, this enables everyone to get their books sooner!

In order to be fair to those who've patiently waited for their books -- I'm instituting a deadline. Surveys and Orders will be LOCKED Sunday, August 28th at 11:59 pm EST. 

This means after this date, if you haven't filled yours out you will not be included in the Thank You page. Nor will you be able to purchase special add-ons.  The train is leaving the station!

I don't want people to miss out, so please reach out if you have any issues finding your BackerKit survey. 

Book Updates

I'm happy to report that RedVeril has started on Book 3 Art Layouts! Meanwhile, I'm working away on the rest of the script, fine tuning dialogue and whatnot. I've also finished recording my audio commentary for issue 2 and begun purchasing the Stretch Goals.
